The Cooperative activity was conducted in order to raise employees’ awareness on fire safety to prevent injury, protect life and safeguard important assets of the Cooperative. Republic Act No. 9514 also known as the Revised Fire Code of the Philippines of 2008, which promotes cooperative engagement with the Bureau of Fire Protection that will ensure public safety and economic development through prevention and suppression of destructive fires.
The practical and best “what to do’s” in case of a fire breakout following the “SAFETY” procedures were presented: Sound the alarm; Advise the nearest fire station; Fight the fire while it is small; Evacuate Immediately; Tell other occupants and neighbors; and, Yield to fire fighters to handle the situation properly. Also discussed were some fire safety and prevention tips and reminders on the important roles that one can lay in preventing fires, reducing injuries, and saving lives during fire.
A fire drill immediately followed the seminar.
