Young Leaders from ACDI MPC LabCoop attend NATCCO’s Regional Youth Forums
Selected members of the ACDI MPC Laboratory Cooperative (LabCoop) joined the two-day Regional Youth Forum organized by National Confederation of Cooperatives (NATCCO) on November 12-13, 2016.The summit was simultaneously held at NSCC Plaza Hotel, Vigan, Ilocos Sur (Luzon), Hidden Valley Mountain Resort, Lamac, Pinamungajan, Cebu (Visayas) and Loleng’s Mountain Spring Resort, Toril, Davao City (Mindanao).
The event, dubbed as "Why We Do What We Do, and How We Do It: Coop Youth Ideas and Projects that Matter," was attended by representatives from LabCoop in three (3) island regions-Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao with ages 13 to 25 years old. The delegates from the ACDI LabCoop includes:
LUZON: Raisaa Jasmine Rodelas, Stephanie Mac Ducusin, and Lian Cedric Abaygar
VISAYAS: Terence Cedric cruz, Michelle kate Tentativa, and Samuel Flores Jr
MINDANAO: Mary Therese Atienza, Joanna Marie Yrasuegui, and Liv Lorenz Climaco
Ms. Annabelle Gutierrez (Cluster Supervisor), Ms. Mary June Dungog (Cebu Branch Head), and Ms. Kayrel Awiten (Davao Branch Head) joined the LabCoop Members as representatives of the guardian Cooperatives.
Workshops and discussions were held focusing on the following social and economic issues: a) drug awareness, prevention and rehabilitation; b) modern-day sustainable farming-youth’s call to action for national food security; and c) youth gearing up for disaster risk reduction and management.
Through the activity, NATCCO aims to mobilize and equip young leaders with the right understanding, tools and connections that will lead to better opportunities to create strong and unified efforts toward nation-building. ACDI MPC takes this opportunity to expose the LabCoop members to develop their interpersonal relations and experience the developmental works as future leaders of cooperative.
