LEASCOR Makes its Maiden Flight with Flagship Aircraft
ACDI MPC is scaling-up its investments in the aviation sector. After the successful venture in aviation training through the Leading Edge International Aviation Academy, Inc. (LEIAAI), the Cooperative aims to further expand its footprint in the aviation sector through chartered flight services. The Leading Edge Air Services Corp. (LEASCOR) was established earlier this year to serve as the air chartering arm of the Cooperative.
On November 15, 2016, LEASCOR officially commissioned and christened its flagship aircraft, the King Air B200 in Clark International Airport, Pampanga. BGEN MANUEL F NATIVIDAD AFP (Ret.), Director of LEASCOR and concurrent member of ACDI MPC Board of Directors, led the ceremony.
On November 23, the B200 made its maiden flight en route from Clark to General Santos City with lay-overs in Dumaguete City and Davao City. On board said flight were MGEN GILBERT S LLANTO (Ret.), ACDI MPC Chairperson and concurrent LEASCOR Chairperson, with MGEN JOVITO P GAMMAD (Ret.), ACDI MPC Director, and BGEN LORENZO R SUMICAD (Ret.), ACDI MPC President.
Once all necessary permits and documents are released by the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB), LEASCOR will make its two aircraft (the B200 and the CESSNA 340 aircraft) commercially available for chartering services. A fleet expansion program is already in the pipeline for acquisition of bigger aircraft in the next five years. LEASCOR envisions to fly both local and foreign tourist to all corners of the Philippine archipelago, even in places that commercial airlines do not operate in.
