ACDI Luzon Branches hold series of Health Literacy Programs for members

ACDI MPC branches in Luzon held a series of Health Literacy Programs in the first week of June 2017. ACDI-Trece Martires Branch hosted a health awareness campaign on June 1 at the 2nd Floor Jade Bldg., Indang-Trece Road, Brgy. Luciano, Trece Martires, Cavite. ACDI-Fort Magsaysay Branch followed by conducting a similar activity on June 6 at the EP Clubhouse, 7th Infantry Division, Fort Magsaysay in Nueva Ecija. Both activities were organized in partnership with ACDI MPC’s Coop Assurance Division and Coop Health Management Federation.

A total of 66 members benefitted in the two legs of the Health Literacy Programs, of whom 20 members participated in Trece Martires and 46 members in Fort Magsaysay. For both activities, ACDI MPC’s partner-physician, Dr. Aileen P. Binuya, provided a brief presentation on how to improve and promote awareness on lifestyle diseases particularly on hypertension and diabetes. Likewise, a free blood pressure check-up was made available to the participants.

ACDI MPC commits itself to promote holistic well-being among members and other stakeholders. Holistic wellness is the “condition of being in optimal health as a result of consciously choosing to live a quality life.” On its 35th Anniversary, the theme “ACDI Cares” resonates the value of healthy lifestyle and awareness as a deterrent to serious diseases and medical conditions in the future, and a key factor in achieving a productive long-life.
