ACDI MPC SUSTAINS ASSISTANCE TO MARAWI CRISIS RELIEF OPERATIONS
ACDI MPC Visayas-Mindanao (VisMin) Group Operations led by Ms. Juliet B. Saavedra, Head VisMin Group Operations continuously support and participate in the Marawi Relief Operations. The ongoing government initiative is being spearheaded by the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) led by Mr. Orlando Ravanera, Chairperson on July 15, 2017 at Balo-I, Lanao Del Norte, Pantar and Saguiaran, Lanao del Sur.
The situation of the evacuees are worsening and the needs to rehabilitate affected families and communities are growing, which include rebuilding of homes and restoration of livelihood and businesses. These are enormous tasks that needs sustainable support not only from the government but also from various groups, organizations local and abroad.
ACDI’s support to the CDA initiative has already benefited 3,000 evacuated residents of the beleaguered city of Marawi. Each beneficiary received a package of relief goods and medicines.
ACDI will continue to support the CDA and other cooperatives in addressing the immediate needs of the evacuees towards rehabilitating and restoring normalcy in the affected city.
