ACDI-PILI BRANCH EXTENDS ASSISTANCE TO THE AFFECTED MEMBERS AT MAYON VOLCANO IN ALBAY

On January 13, 2018, Mayon Volcano, the most active volcano in the country began spewing steam and ash plume. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHILVOCS) raised the alert level 4 over the volcano signaling imminent danger to residents of surrounding towns. As more threats were predicted, residents of the affected areas started to flee heading to the nearest evacuations centers.

ACDI MPC through Pili and Legazpi office started to conduct Relief Operations in Camalig, Daraga, Guinobatan, Malilipot, Sto. Domingo, Tabaco City, Ligao City and Legazpi City on January 23 that benefited 30 affected families. The Relief Operations Team led by Ms. Joy A. Lovete, Head for Southern Luzon Area Operations distributed relief goods, rice, water, slippers, masks, medicines, and sleeping materials. As of present time, ACDI continues to distribute assistance to identified members and their families in the area.

In times of calamities, ACDI MPC affirms its commitment to continuously assist its members in affected communities with the necessary support needed. The Cooperative is one with local government in providing immediate assistance to those who are in need.
