Forty (40) delegates from Tayabas Community Multi-Purpose Cooperative (TCMC) paid a study visit at ACDI MPC Head Office at Taguig City on June 2, 2017. The delegation was led by Mr. Bernie Obmasca, Chairperson of TCMC. A formal program proceeded, which was highlighted by the presentation of Colonel Cepe on the history, organization, and operation of the host cooperative which provided the delegates a snapshot of ACDI’s progress through the years. The activity was capped by an open forum that provided the officers of both cooperatives to interact and exchange their best practices, key challenges, and lessons learned, particularly on collection efficiency and insurance claims. The various CBLs of ACDI MPC were also given the spotlight to promote their respective products and services.

TCMC started operations in 1965. From having a seed capital of 150 Pesos from 15 members 52 years ago, it has since grown into a large multipurpose cooperative with total assets amounting to 525 Million Pesos, a membership base of 15,855 members, and giving employment to at least 74 people as of the current year. Its business lines include financial services, agribusiness, trading, health care, transport, venue rentals and funeral services.
