The 22nd Dairy Congress and Expo (DairyConEx) was recently held at the Development Academy of the Philippines in Tagaytay City, Cavite from March 27 to 29, 2019. Among the participants were 34 officers and personnel from ACDI MPC’s business lines led by MGEN GILBERT S LLANTO AFP (Ret), former ACDI MPC Chairperson and incumbent director of the DCP. The event was also graced by the Honorable Emmanuel F. Piñol, Secretary of the Department of Agriculture, and His Excellency John T. Holmes, Ambassador of Canada to the Philippines.

MGEN LLANTO presented the 2020 DCP Roadmap that outlines the development programs and commitments of the National Federation for the dairy industry in the Philippines. DA Secretary Piñol concluded the first day with a round-table discussion that was followed by a fellowship program. The second and third day featured the series of discussions on dairy topics that include: policy perspective on dairy development in Canada; optimizing dairy production through Canadian genetics, fostering dairy farming as poverty alleviation measure, and mechanization for efficient cattle farming in the Philippines.

An exposition showcasing the products and services of partner cooperatives took place simultaneously with the convention proper. ACDI’s Agribusiness Division (ABD), Aces Philproducers Corp. (APC), RAMKING Convenience Store, and Koop King MPC were among the participants that set up display booths.
