ACDI MPC attends the Caritas Margins’ 7th Buy and Give Trade Fair

To celebrate this year’s upcoming Cooperative Month, the CDA Manila Extension Office, together with the Regional Cooperative Development Council-NCR (RCDC), Union of Metro Manila Cooperatives (UMMC), Federation of People’s Sustainable Development Cooperative (FPSDC) and other cooperatives, has partnered with Caritas Margins in its 7th Buy and Give Trade Fair at Trinoma Quezon City on September 25, 2019. The event marks the start of series of activities for the Cooperative Month Celebration this coming October.

With the theme “Cooperativism: A Countervailing Force Against Climate Change and Violent Extremism through People Empowerment to Trail-blaze Paradigm Shift Towards Sustainability and Social Inclusion!”, the Cooperative Month Celebration aims to highlight Cooperatives as major contributors in economic and social development in the Philippines.

True enough, a total of 40 cooperatives participated during the trade fair with the theme “BUYING is the new way of GIVING!” whose proceeds will go to the education of the youth under Youth Servant Leadership and Education Program (YSLEP) of Caritas Manila.

With the continuous success Cooperatives bring to its members and community, CDA Chairman Orlando Ravanera and DTI Usec. Blesila Lantayona, who were among the speakers during the event, were confident that more individuals will be encouraged to be genuine advocates of the Cooperative Movement in our country.
