Disaster happens almost everywhere in the country. Some disasters give a warning but most often, it occur unexpectedly that there is no time to prepare. This results in loss of home, damage to valuable possessions, injury, and even death. Nobody wants to experience the wrath of nature. It is costly and devastating.

As part of the Cooperative’s Social Development Plan, ACDI intends to be involved in strengthening disaster risk reduction and management capabilities of communities most vulnerable to natural and man-made hazards.

With this, ACDI conducted its third Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue (CSSR) Training from November 21 to 29, 2019 in Taguig City, Metro Manila. The eight-day training involved 28 participants mostly from Philippine Air Force’s 505th Search and Rescue Group (SRG), the Philippine Army’s 525th Engineer Combat Battalion (ECB), Bureau of Fire Protection, representatives from ACDI MPC, Leading Edge International Aviation Academy Inc., RAMCEL Convenient Bag Corporation, and ACESER Corporation. It was organized by the Cooperative in partnership with the Cebu-based Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation (ERUF), 505th SRG and 525th ECB. Joining the roster of instructors were personnel from 505th SRG who were all graduates of the previous CSSR Training.
