ACDI MPC Holds First Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue Instructor Workshop

ACDI MPC held a Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue Instructor Workshop (CSSRIW) at Taguig City, Metro Manila from November 30 to December 6, 2019. The CSSRIW followed the CSSR Training held from November 21 to 29, 2019. The CSSRIW was designed to educate and build the competencies of qualified participants towards becoming a CSSR instructor.

The seven-day training was organized in partnership with Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation (ERUF), 505th Search and Rescue Group (SRG), and 525th Engineer Combat Battalion (ECB). Twenty-one (21) student-instructors completed the workshop. Participants of the workshop were mostly graduates of the recently conducted CSSR basic training course which includes personnel from Philippine Air Force’s 505th SRG and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

The CSSRIW, together with the CSSR Training, is one of the many ACDI MPC’s initiatives under its multi-year Social Development Plan. The Cooperative aims to help in strengthening the risk reduction and management capabilities of government agencies and communities vulnerable to disasters.
