ACDI MPC Chairperson is “Cooperative Leader of the Year”

MGEN GILBERT S LLANTO AFP (Ret), Chairperson of ACDI Multipurpose Cooperative, was recognized as the Cooperative Leader of the Year by Asia’s Golden Icons Awards for his contributions to the advancement of the cooperative sector in the last 40 years. Aside from being the Chairperson of the largest cooperative in the Philippines, General Llanto was given recognition for his leadership milestones and achievements in the cooperative sector that include being the current President of the National Alliance of Cooperatives (NAC), the apex organization of cooperatives nationwide, the current President of the Human Services Cluster under NAC, and the current Chairperson of the Cooperative Health Management Federation.
General Llanto was also acknowledged as the “Most Dedicated and Dynamic Retired General” for his more than three decade of public service as a military officer and his passion for service to all uniformed personnel through his cooperative works even after retirement.
Said accolades were awarded to General Llanto on June 28, 2022 at the Grand Ballroom of Okada Manila at the same time of the formal launching of the award-giving body. According to their official website, the Asia’s Golden Icons Awards aims to “recognize outstanding individuals and business entities for their significant impact, achievements, and contributions to society through excellence in their areas of expertise.”

Other prominent personalities in public service that were recognized by the Asia’s Golden Icon Awards include: Atty. Persida Rueda-Acosta, Chief Public Attorney of the Public Attorney's Office; Hon. Eddie Guillen, Mayor of Piddig, Ilocos Norte; and, Atty. Jocelyn Castañeda, Mayor of Mariveles, Bataan.
